Stylist / Contemporary Jeweller / Fashion and Textile Designer
Argentina – 1989
The work comes to life composed by different materials, diverse and unexpected. This jewelry is motivated by experimenation and desire. A block of sensations, where memories, feelings and emotions collide; at a Deleuze´s manner. I try to recover the energetic spirit of the Andes, with ancient techniques, colors and textures but bringing them to a contemporary present: fragmentated, multiple, modern.
To me a jewel is not something accesory, is something essential. A jewel as a portal, a talisman, an amulet; a place to keep dreams alive. Materials can be synthetic, natural, precious, familiar; when they are together they produce a beautiful contrast and that is what fascinates me. To create balance where is not supposed to be, an harmonic composition oftenly produced with optimistic intentions. Everything can co-exist in balance and create an everchanging dialoge with the user.
The jewels are movements trough landscapes, fantastic topographies that condense color, shape and volume. The creative process is oftenly unpredictable, I let materials tell me what they want to be, like an entity wishing through my hands and eyes, telling me what it wants to become. A chaos being channeled. This way, the jewels are a crystallization of a multilpe variables, sometimes I´m in control, others I´m not.
